I love my man.
After our weekend morning walk/run together, I do yoga outside. My honey grabs his blanket from his truck, puts it down beside me, and does yoga with me.
. . . .
OK...so I forgot the hot-dog buns today! I felt that nagging feeling of forgetting something as we loaded the kayaks and launched, but didn't figure it out until Dave lit up the charcoal.
So we all found creative ways to hold our various hot dogs.
Jake held his vegetarian jalapeno-cheddar dog in two tortilla chips...
Sam used a plastic bag to hold his all-natural hot dog...
Dave used the only fork we bring for his all-natural dog...
And inspired by Dave's *vertical* method, I used my empty Coronita bottle to hold my low fat dog...adding mustard with each bite (and speaking of mustard, if you haven't tasted Annie's Organic Horseradish Mustard, we HIGHLY recommend it!!...it's SOOOO delicious!!)...
Instead of whining (OK...I was whining the most!), we chose to be thankful for our creativity and considered it a blessing to have saved from eating all those carbs...
:)
We took a family photo for the Live and Learn Unschooling Conference directory...

Back on land...
Jake and I had plans to attend an AWESOME party that our friends, Juliette and Julian, were having. They have a beautiful piece of land with a beautiful house and an amazing barn...and they were having SEVEN bands play!! We were SO excited about going, even though it meant driving 1 1/2 hours from the river, since we weren't willing to give up a weekend on the river to go...
But as we were getting ready to leave, Dave remembered that the road to get there had been closed since our little last flood a few weeks ago. He called an engineer friend to confirm that it was still closed. We invested SOOO long looking at a map, and finding an alternate route...
The only alternate route we came up with would have taken us about 2 hours to get there...and, man, I was not crazy about driving that L-O-N-G, winding, mountainous route back to our cabin in the dark, late at night.
::sigh::
(All dressed up and no where to go!)
As painful of a decision as it was, we chose to be at *peace* with NOT going to this party (I still feel small pangs of loss, but trust that All is Exactly As It Should Be), and staying at the river with Dave and Sam.
The cool thing about Choosing Peace is that it opens up the doors for Infinite Possibilities and Incredible Joy. We had one of the Best Times together...
We all chose to join Dave, driving around the dirt roads in his truck while he got some work done (he had weed-whacking to do in various places where he bow-hunts). Jake and Sam were jazzed because they got to ride in the back of the truck...
One of Dave's stops was at an amazing blueberry patch. My God! We have NEVER seen a year when there have been SO MANY BLUEBERRIES!!
We picked and picked and ate and picked and ate and laughed and loved it...
We happened to have a bottle of champagne with us ('cause that's the kind of people we are!), so Sam wanted to experiment with the blueberries and the bubbly...
It was VERY cool!!
And, honestly, how could I not have Chosen Peace about our (painful at first!) decision to not go to the party when I have these faces and beautiful souls to share my evening/life with...
