Today is the day!! I made my third drive to Vermont to pick up my Jakey from Not Back to School Camp (and that means his amazing photos are back on the blog, too!)!!
The minute I walked into the room where the campers were singing and saying their good-byes (or rather *Hugging* their good-byes), I knew the energy was unlike any other I had been a part of before. There was no ego in that room. There was only complete Love and Acceptance and Celebration of Each Other.
And this is why this experience turned out to be even more than Jake had ever hoped for. While always completely Honored and Celebrated by his family, he was ready to take his Shine out into the Universe, lighting up corners he hadn't before visited...and to allow other people's Shine to deeply affect his own life and light.
It's been amazing to stand in witness of his light..from the time we first spotted his Shining Presence in that room, hugging his friends and when Sam and I were first able to give him our own deep, loving hugs.
I'm so thankful he's home. And I'm so thankful he had this amazing, world and soul-expanding experience.
Having a few hours to kill before Logan and Quinn were due at the airport, we stopped in Saratoga Springs (one of our favorite cities) for lunch. We got some pizza to go with the other snacks I had brought along, went to the park and ate and talked and laughed...
...and I'm glad I thought to stick that frisbee in the bag, too...
I love this laughing-in-action shot...I forget what they were laughing about...but it was Sheer Joy to watch...
After eating, we got ice cream at Ben and Jerry's and then walked around town before it was time to leave for the airport.
We made it to the airport in good time...got Quinn checked-in and off to his gate...and then proceeded to do the same for Logan...
I get anxious watching people go through security...but Logan handled it with grace...
And I have no more photos of the rest of the evening...but it was Sheer Heaven to get back in the truck with my Sam and my Jake and head home to Dave and Choco and Toody and Nugget and Jiji (the last four being our dog, our bird, our guinea pig and our cat). We enjoyed the super-stuffed veggie lasagna I had made yesterday for our *We're All Home Together* celebration...and just really enjoyed being together the rest of the night...
All is well.
Jake:
Hello everyone! I'm back. Sooooo nice to be home... Camp was amazing, I'll post pics later, and the drive home was fantastic...
Been a while, let's see if I can do this...
'I know this isn't nice, but what kind of a name is Mernie?'
' *Salvation* in the oddest of places'
'I have no witty title for this, I just like the lines'
'This duck didn't realize it was having it's picture taken'
That's why it looks so surprised.'What do you do when you see a Spaceman?'
This is actually a photo from when Quinn failed in attempting to join the mounted Police force of Chicago, for obvious reasons.
(I just wanted to give a quick thank-you to The Shins [Even though they'll probably never read this] for supplying me with brilliant Photo titles such as this one.)
'A photo of a stray Moomintroll'
Who was hiding in a guitar shop.'G is for...'
Yay, that was fun...
Good to be back. : )
