Within the course of an hour or two, Jake didn't move very far, but he sure was living a rich, full life, right on the very same futon...
He started with Pippi Longstocking...
Got some inspiration to draw and work on his children's book...
And from there, decided to work on his computer, writing out his story ideas...
And when I was testifying before the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the legal aid had asked me, with a confused and bewildered expression on his face, "Could you give us an example of how your kids learn without bringing school into your home?"

My pie punkins...
I felt emotionally exhausted and needed a bit of space for myself, so Dave and Jake and Sam and the pets went on the evening walk without me. I poured myself a pumpkin beer and watched them from the window, feeling so incredibly blessed and full of gratitude for ALL that we are, all that we have, and for our free lives. It was the best show I've ever watched.
It also gave Dave the opportunity to be the photographer...
