Jake:

'Calamity! A sea of white! Canine Wiles!

J: You know when you pour too much milk in your cereal, so that the bowl is 80% milk, and the cereal/strawberries are just little islands in it, and you can't put it back in the carton, no matter how much you want to? That disaster happened to me today.

A picture of the catastrophe:

And you know when your really cute dog, sits there, and stares at the sandwich in your hand, and you can't give him any? This also happened to me today.

A picture of the incriminating Sandwich:

It was a truly scarring day.

Anne:

(Jake and I did *not* know about each other's breakfast cereal w/strawberries photos!)

My steel-cut oatmeal this morning (it's my breakfast almost EVERY morning...with apples and ground flax seed and cinnamon and brown sugar and walnuts and plain yogurt...mmm...but the magic strawberries made it SOOOO much more delicious!...thank you for inspiration, Jacqueline and Kathy!!)...

Beautiful sights from the wonderful jazz show (thank you, Enerjee Jazz Quartet!) at the library this morning...

Below is Sam's *Strawberry Station* that he set up on the island in our kitchen. He thought it was important that we have easy access to the *perfect strawberry experience*. There are fresh, washed berries in the bowl, a knife with which to hull them, and organic, Fair Trade Vegan sugar in which to dip them!!

After dinner, I asked my family if they wanted me to make more shortcake and they said something along the lines of "Hell, Yeah!" But Sam said, "Um...I dont' think there are any strawberries left."

I checked.

There were about six.

Yup. He ate most of them by himself.

We had spoonfuls of Nutella for dessert instead.

:)

Jake pulled me outside WAY past my bed-time to be a Part of the Darkness...and the TEENY BLINKING LIGHTS Shining from each of the ZILLIONS of fire-flies!!

It was Sheer Amazing Magic. (No, you can't see the fireflies below, sadly...)

All is Well.

Jake:

'Intrigue! A mysterious package arrives!'

Jake here... Heck, since my writing on here is actually a regular thing, I'm just gonna put J: at the beginning of my posts from now on. : )

Alright, so, you may recall, waaaaaaay back, a little less than a month ago that we went to Toronto, and to a little store I adore called the Magic Pony. There, a few things happened, involving my favorite artist, the spiritual experience of seeing his work, and a surprise that didn't work out. For full details, see the above link.

AAAAAAAAAAAAANYWAY, today, in the mail... I got THE package from Magic Pony. Of course, it was not only a brown box. Brilliant doodles and stickers adorned each side of this box, which was enough to get me excited as it was...

So, beyond the doodles and stickers, inside this magical parcel was what is almost sure to be the shining beacon of my Designer Toy collection... A Jellyfish toy, that had been drawn on ~ for ME ~ by Nathan Jurevicius himself.

This was almost too much for me. I can't describe just how brilliant this is... SO, I'll let the picures explain. (Note, I like the third one the best. o3o )

Anne:

(Hey, Jake...there's even *green* in your *Nathan Jellyfish* pictures!! :)...

So, the other day when Jake asked, "Mom, can I draw on the walls?"...of course, I said, "Of COURSE!" And when he proceeded to draw on the walls in his bedroom, I whined, "Can't you draw on the walls out in our living area?"

Today, after he got his package from Nathan (and it was SO powerful when he opened that package and pulled out that amazing, personalized toy from his Art Hero...I was in tears!!...), he was inspired...

YES!! The wood-splitting is FINISHED for the year!!!

That's Dave's celebratory ritual... He used to hold the last one over his head and run around our house with it... But he didn't want to risk any back injuries this year...

:)

We celebrated with champagne and Sam and I invented a new game with the cork called *Plinko* (yes, *borrowed* from *The Price is Right* game). You throw it on the roof to try to get as high as you can without it going over to the other side...

. . .

I LOVE our friends at the *Pie in the Sky*!! LOOK at what they worked SO hard at growing for us...without any chemicals at all... Just the most BEAUTIFUL strawberries I have ever seen in my life...really...

All is Well.

Jake:

This is *not* Jake's photo for today...he took it and I wanted to post it. Much of our 10 acres is COVERED in wild strawberries...and we were thrilled (and when I say *we*, I mean especially Choco) to find ripe ones on our walk tonight! Choco didn't do much *walking*, though, as he was grazing...

Anne:

My sock progress...

I wanted to take a photo of the heel flap, which was fun and easy, in case I made a mistake from here on in.

I made a HEEL!! Yes, this is why *knitting* should be called *Magic*!!

Wheeeeee!! The gusset is SO FUN and now I'm working the foot. Lovin' it. (It seems to look like a sock made for a giant foot in the photo, but it's not really *that* big in real life!)
