My friend, the Mama bluebird...providing for her five babies (Papa bluebird is not far away, also hunting for food)...
In the photo below, there are two female hummingbirds on our feeder (you can see the other one through the feeder). The female hummers peacefully sit on the feeder together to get what they need. The male hummers do not. They have to chase away the females and then they stand guard, making sure the females don't come back while they are drinking.

After our evening walk, Dave and Jake (and sometimes Sam and I, but ALWAYS Dave and Jake...) stay outside to breathe in the beauty of Where We Live and to watch the amazing sunset...
