My advent calendar...(I love it...)...
Today was kolache making day, a tradition from my Hungarian Papa's family...
Cooking the filling of ground walnuts. raisins, cinnamon, sugar and milk...
Rolling out the dough and adding the filling...
All rolled up, slashed and ready to RISE!!

I made a dozen loaves today...and it is impossible to bake kolache and smell that incredible aroma all day without cutting into a loaf or two!!
Thanks to my Mom for this sacred Christmas ritual...and these sights, smells and flavors of the season...
