Jake:

'Intrigue! A mysterious package arrives!'

Jake here... Heck, since my writing on here is actually a regular thing, I'm just gonna put J: at the beginning of my posts from now on. : )

Alright, so, you may recall, waaaaaaay back, a little less than a month ago that we went to Toronto, and to a little store I adore called the Magic Pony. There, a few things happened, involving my favorite artist, the spiritual experience of seeing his work, and a surprise that didn't work out. For full details, see the above link.

AAAAAAAAAAAAANYWAY, today, in the mail... I got THE package from Magic Pony. Of course, it was not only a brown box. Brilliant doodles and stickers adorned each side of this box, which was enough to get me excited as it was...

So, beyond the doodles and stickers, inside this magical parcel was what is almost sure to be the shining beacon of my Designer Toy collection... A Jellyfish toy, that had been drawn on ~ for ME ~ by Nathan Jurevicius himself.

This was almost too much for me. I can't describe just how brilliant this is... SO, I'll let the picures explain. (Note, I like the third one the best. o3o )

Anne:

(Hey, Jake...there's even *green* in your *Nathan Jellyfish* pictures!! :)...

So, the other day when Jake asked, "Mom, can I draw on the walls?"...of course, I said, "Of COURSE!" And when he proceeded to draw on the walls in his bedroom, I whined, "Can't you draw on the walls out in our living area?"

Today, after he got his package from Nathan (and it was SO powerful when he opened that package and pulled out that amazing, personalized toy from his Art Hero...I was in tears!!...), he was inspired...

YES!! The wood-splitting is FINISHED for the year!!!

That's Dave's celebratory ritual... He used to hold the last one over his head and run around our house with it... But he didn't want to risk any back injuries this year...

:)

We celebrated with champagne and Sam and I invented a new game with the cork called *Plinko* (yes, *borrowed* from *The Price is Right* game). You throw it on the roof to try to get as high as you can without it going over to the other side...

. . .

I LOVE our friends at the *Pie in the Sky*!! LOOK at what they worked SO hard at growing for us...without any chemicals at all... Just the most BEAUTIFUL strawberries I have ever seen in my life...really...

All is Well.

Jake (I believe his creative genius had been tapped out, as he invested all that he had into his own drawing...see below...):

Anne:

Yes, I have a thousand photos today. But come on...really...which would *you* have chosen to leave out??

:)

Last library day of the season...

I'd like to thank my boys, without whom this would not have been possible... (Sam wasn't feeling well, so I didn't to take his picture during the set-up...)

We went to *Pie in the Sky* after the program, and I bought each child an ice cream! It's a 93 degree day!!

(There's my Sam!...ice cream usually makes one feel better... :)

And because I like hanging out with the kids so much, I brought paper and markers to make *Chinese Fortune Tellers* (aka *Cootie Catchers*) with them...that was really fun...

Later in the day, Sam and I retreated to our basement for a slight relief in the HEAT and watched some episodes of 30 Rock on his computer (here he is, returing to WoW afterward)...

And Jake was oblivious to the heat and to anyone else's presence in the Universe, as he was so intent on this MOST AMAZING drawing that he was working on (he took a photo of it for his photo for the day, but decided to not share it here first...here it is on Deviant Art: Dream of Black)! I love how my boy *Must Draw*!

Um...really, Anne?? Even with all of these photos for today?? ANOTHER sunset photo???!!!

You wouldn't have wanted to miss this sunset...

All is well.

Pie in the Sky!!...an amazing farm stand/homemade ice cream parlor in Otego, NY, owned by our friends...

I still remember the first day we met them. We had just moved to the area, and the woman from whom we had gotten our Corgi (Sadie, who passed a couple of years ago) learned that my kids did not go to school. She said, "OH! You have to go to *Pie in the Sky* and meet them!"

I think I took Jake and Sam the next day, and within fifteen minutes of meeting Janet and Jamie and their kids Jack and Sadie (not to be confused with our corgi, Sadie!), my kids were outside with their kids, playing and exporing in the creek! That was 12 years ago...

These were taken by Jake and Sam...and I felt it was absolutely necessary to include them! These were the few that weren't blurry, because they were both laughing so hard when they took the photos!
