Anne:

It was *belated* Mardi Gras in our home today, as I finally had a moment to make my King Cake (oh, I LOVE King Cake!).

I made a large one for us and a smaller one for my sweet neighbors, for taking care of our Choco while we were in the city.

According to tradition, you're supposed to hide a little baby in the cake (supposedly representing baby Jesus), and the person who finds it in their piece of cake has various privileges and obligations...they get to be *King* for the day, as Sam put it.

Well, we don't have any plastic babies in our house...so I used a Mega Blox orc. Sam got it.

(Oh, he looks so humiliated!!)

Note to self for next year: the *baby* in the cake does not wash clean very well. Also, do not use anything again that is in two parts. The legs got separated from his body. After fixing him and joking about how someone could have choked on his legs, Sam asked, "Um...Mom? He didn't have a weapon in his hand, too, did he??!!"

Poor Orc. I'm sorry you're covered in King Cake for an eternity now.

Jake:

Margaritas are yummy. : D This picture is a little boring.
