Anne:

**@@## FLASHBACK ##@@**

From his earliest days, when he would, one by one, put pieces of cat food into the cat's water bowl to see if they would *sink* or *float*, Sam, like ALL children, has been a True Scientist (and how glorious that he was FREE and *allowed* to Be and Learn and Explore and Create!!)

Last night, Sam requested we "do something FUN...like a project!" And so we got out the root beer making kit (that they received for Christmas in 2007!) and we DID IT!!

We had such a great time. The kit came with a balloon, and at first we were like, "WHAT?? WHY??!!" But then when we had to wait ten minutes (TWICE), we were like, "Wheeee!!! A BALOOOOOON!!!" And we batted it around while waiting...

After a fun morning of sanitizing instruments, mixing, measuring, waiting and balloon-batting...we are finally able to pour our home-made root beer into the bottles!

Let the FERMENTATION COMMENCE!!

. . . .

Meanwhile...I had made this cake this morning (we love Love LOVE Whole Foods' organic yellow cake mixes!!) (and the chocolate is the BEST, too!). Jake, Sam and I kind of played a game of *sneaking* pieces all day long...me pretending to get mad at them when they were sneaking pieces, but stuffing my own face with some from time to time, pretending I had nothing in my mouth at all...

By the time I got around to frosting it in the late afternoon, this is what was left of it...

It still made the most perfect and CUTEST dessert...

. . . .

Sam and I have been working on this General Grievous LEGO® for quite some time now. We got frustrated at the beginning, because we FORGOT ONE CRUCIAL PIECE!! So we had to start all over again. But we did, and we are thankful, because now it just FLOWS!!

Sam usually does LEGO's® with Dave, and when Dave was watching Sam and I in our power struggles to be the one who BUILDS, Dave said to me, "I usually get the pieces ready and Sam builds." Well, I am not Dave and Wah! I wanna build, too!! And so we both share in ALL responsibilities, and we laugh and we yell and we tease and we have the BEST fun...and the power struggles are all for show...

:)

Oh, I love our life...

Jake:

Jiji was on ice today! And I was lucky enough to get a shot.
