This scarf is the first thing I ever knit. My friend, Cathy McNulty, was at our house for dinner with her girls (years ago!), and As They Were Leaving, Cathy said, "OH! I forgot I wanted to show you how to knit!" She pulled out of her bag this beautiful skein of yarn and knitting needles she had bought just for me...and she showed me how to knit!
